Con motivo de la XVIII Vuelta a Fuerteventura en Kayak, que este año se celebrará del 27 de agosto al 3 de septiembre, el Cabildo de Fuerteventura, a través de la Consejería de Deportes, que dirige Andrés Díaz Matoso, ha celebrado un curso de primeros auxilios para el personal que colaborará con dicha vuelta.

El curso, impartido por Atlantic Emergency, empresa que elaboró el plan de autoprotección de este evento deportivo, contó con la asistencia de 10 personas que colaborarán en la nueva edición de la Vuelta a Fuerteventura en Kayak, de las cuales siete son trabajadores de la Consejería de Deportes.

Los asistentes a este curso recibieron formación para realizar la reanimación cardiopulmonar, a usar desfibriladores y camillas inmovilizadoras flotantes, y a tratar atragantamientos, hemorragias y fracturas.

La Vuelta en Kayak de este año contará con quince tramos, con paradas en enclaves como Corralejo, Los Molinos o Costa Calma. El Cabildo de Fuerteventura, en consonancia con sus tareas de promoción de los deportes náuticos, fomenta esta prueba deportiva, que supone una actividad saludable y variada que permite además disfrutar de los enormes atractivos naturales de la Isla.
